The Stables delivers WOW factor from the moment you arrive and is the perfect rural retreat for your dream wedding. Our lovingly repurposed Stable Barn is located on a secluded and private equestrian property, offering only a select number of weddings each year and is family owned and operated, ensuring every couple receives the quality and personal wedding experience we are known for.
Surrounded by sprawling lawns, a spectacular lake with boathouse and jetty and framed by magnificent natural bushland, The Stables provides a multitude of stunning Ceremony, Reception and Photo locations for your special day.

The Stables is perfectly positioned within an hour of both Sydney and Newcastle CBD's and a mere 30 minutes from Terrigal and Wahroonga, making it the ideal coastal hinterland wedding destination.

We provide the perfect canvas, allowing every couple the freedom to create their own personalised wedding celebration that will be treasured forever.
Whatever your vision, we will liaise with you throughout the planning process drawing on our extensive experience and all our couples have exclusive access to our curated list of trusted Recommended Suppliers to ensure that your special day is easy to plan and effortless on the day.

Our experienced Wedding Coordinator is fully included for every booking, along wth a detailed Run Sheet which is prepared for you and your vendors, to ensure that your day is seamless and you, your family and bridal party are relaxed, supported and free to enjoy the days leading up to, and every moment of your wedding day.

The Stables offers our magnificent rustic Barn, expansive lawns and gorgeous outdoor covered Pavilion space, with both structures offering a fully insulated roof to keep you and your guests comfortable all year round! All areas are conveniently close together with easy flat access and both the Stables Barn and outdoor Pavilion are covered in flowering creepers and are extensively decorated with fairy lights and festoon lights for a simply magical atmosphere, along with a cosy Fire Pit for any cooler evenings.

Our 'Wisteria Walk’ is truly one of the most impressive aisle walks there is, providing stunning photo opportunities and a spectacular entrance on your big day or 'The Glade', our natural bush ceremony space in amongst the towering gums, lillies and ferns, is another beautiful option.

Our majestic Ceremony Tree, vine covered Pavilion or natural Bush ceremony space along with the rustic Round Yard, the Stables Barn itself or anywhere else on the grounds you might choose, provide a diverse range of lovely Ceremony options to perfectly suit your vision, offering flexibility and most importantly, wet weather options if needed.

The South Lawn overlooks our beautiful lake with rustic Boathouse and Jetty and this is just one of the many settings for magnificent wedding photos without the need to leave the property.

Stables couples also have the use of our beautifully decorated and spacious luxe Loft apartment for their wedding day preparations and romantic wedding night accommodation. The perfect blend of relaxed coastal meets modern country style, complete with a fully plumbed, vintage claw foot bathtub on the private back balcony amongst the treetops so you can indulge in a bubble bath in the bush!

In recent years, our original Farm Cottage has been extensively renovated and opened on the property just a minute's stroll to the Venue and is available for bridal party, extended family or friends to hire and stay close by for the wedding weekend. It offers the same beautifully decorated coastal meets country style and provides convenient additional accommodation for up to 10 guests, in addition to the Loft, complete with outdoor living and dining, stone pizza oven, bbq, pool table and fireplace.

The latest addition to the Venue is the gorgeous 'Pearl', our 1972 Vintage Horse Float Bar. She has pride of place permanently installed adjacent to our lovely covered Pavilion and is fully included in your Venue Hire, in addition to our beautiful Vintage Bar space inside the Barn.

Our Story
At The Stables of Somersby, we’re in the business of hosting stunning weddings.
​
Having been lucky enough to live on this lovely property for the last 20 years raising a family and breeding horses, Louise and her family have spent years creating this beautiful rustic Barn and Venue space together.
With an emphasis on using recycled and upcycled building materials wherever possible whilst still retaining an elegant finish, the Barn was originally built to house horse stables, farm machinery, tack and feed. It has since been lovingly repurposed into a beautiful venue space, full of elegant, rustic appeal and quality finishes with thought and attention given to every detail.
​
With a background in interiors, styling and events and a long history of collecting beautiful things (often rusty!), The Stables creates a welcoming, relaxed and stunning family atmosphere that truly reflects the love and passion that has gone in to creating it.
​
Since our opening in January 2018, we’ve given our couples the freedom to realise their vision, personalise their wedding day and create lifelong memories.
